Wrestling legend “Rowdy” Roddy Piper has died at age 61, TMZ reports.
Piper died of cardiac arrest in his Hollywood home, according to the website.
Piper (real name: Roderick George Toombs) rose to wrestling fame in the 1980s, and was admitted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.
Roderick George "Roddy" Toombs (April 17, 1954 – July 31, 2015), better known by his ring name "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, was a Canadian professional wrestler, film actor and podcast host. In professional wrestling, he was best known for his work with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) in the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s. Although he was Canadian, due to his Scottish heritage he was billed as coming from Glasgow and was known for his signature kilt and bagpipe entrance music. He earned the nickname "Rowdy" by displaying his trademark "Scottish" rage, spontaneity, and quick wit. Despite being a crowd favorite for his rock star-like persona, he often played a villain. Aside from his ring name, he was also known by the nickname "Hot Rod".

NEW YORK, N.Y., and STAMFORD, Conn. — The reimagined “WWE Tough Enough” reality TV series, featuring an all-new format, will premiere on USA Network on Tuesday, June 23, at 8/7 C.
USA announced the renewal of the groundbreaking reality TV series, which debuted in 2001, earlier this year. The new series will include live elements and more fan participation than ever before.
"WWE consistently delivers one of the largest and most socially engaged live audiences in entertainment and we’re excited to expand our long-standing relationship and be the true cable home for the WWE fan,” USA Network President Chris McCumber said in a press release.
The announcement is part of USA Network’s expanded commitment to WWE programming.

Stan Hansen competed in another notable match as he represented AJPW against NJPW representative Big Van Vader. This particular match became renown for its stiffness, as Hansen and Vader repeatedly exchanged blows until Hansen unintentionally poked Vader's right eye with his thumb, which caused the eye to pop out of its socket. After removing his mask, pushing the eye back into its socket and holding it in place with his eyelid, Vader continued wrestling Hansen until the match was rendered a no contest.
